Tourism Nova Scotia is thrilled to welcome nine tourism operators to the 2019 World-class Experience EXCELLerator Program. Thank you to everyone who applied!
2019 World-class Experience EXCELLerator Program Participants:
Collaborating with Tourism Nova Scotia, the 2019 participants will each develop a unique and authentic Nova Scotia experience that our market research indicates is appealing to our target travellers.
This year’s program kicked-off on Wednesday, May 29 with a full-day workshop focused on the program’s goals, tools, and target market—the Free Spirit Explorer Quotient segment. Our experience development team walked partners through experience planning—from concept to market readiness.
Sarah Hrdlicka and Scott McCormack, co-founders of Cape LaHave Adventures, are returning partners in the EXCELLerator Program. At the workshop, they shared what they’ve learned from creating the LaHave Islands Glamping Adventure as program participants in 2017. Initially, the glamping experience was offered as a one-night experience with an optional second night. In response to customer demand, the experience will be offered for two nights with an optional third night in 2019.
“We were initially motivated to participate in EXCELLerator for the great video and photos we would be able to capture,” Sarah said. “The program helped us reach a new market for our business and generated great media coverage for us that not only helped sell this experience, but promoted our business overall. We wanted to participate again to access the research and coaching from the team at Tourism Nova Scotia to grow our business.”
Developing new experiences is key to Tourism Nova Scotia’s strategy, and will contribute to reaching our industry’s goal of $4 billion in tourism revenues by 2024.
We look forward to collaborating with our 2019 partners to develop world-class experiences that differentiate Nova Scotia, appeal to the Free Spirit segment, and create marketing assets to attract new visitors.
Since 2016, EXCELLerator Program partners have brought 26 new experiences to market.
